Update: Hiding From the World

At least, that's what I've felt like doing for the past two weeks.
I've been rather depressed lately over my face (skin) that I practically have no mood to do anything at all except eat and watch TV, which screws up my supposed "diet". I feel reluctant to go out to meet people because I feel ugly. Since my skin can't take any makeup at all, I haven't been wearing any makeup either. Even drawing on my eyebrows and applying mascara makes me cringe because it requires me to look in the mirror. The more I see the reflection of my red, patchy, flaky, bumpy scaly, rough and wrinkled skin, the more depressed I got. It didn't help either when people thought that I didn't blend my blush properly or got punched...

Loads of whining and moaning so read on only if you think you can handle it...

Yes, I'm very emo when it comes to the skin of my face because what my skin is going through right now means I can't do tutorials, show how a product looks on me or even try any new products for that matter. Beauty exploration is a huge part of my life and it kills me that I can't play with my makeup. The only part of my face that's left looking normal is my nose and I don't think I wanna show you that seeing as I haven't been scrubbing or doing any deep cleansing, in fear that I might aggravate my skin even more.

After pertinaciously using all the methods that I know of to get my skin back to normal and to no avail, I finally consulted a doctor. You see, I've been trying to get my skin off "drugs", hoping to heal it with more natural approaches but at this point of desperation, screw natural! I wanna look normal again :(
The doctor gave me anti-inflammatory tablets and this super potent ointment that he only recommends a thin layer of application and has to be stopped the moment my rash goes away.

I just got the meds 4 hours ago so I don't know how well they're working yet but I'm hoping that my skin can make a comeback in time for the last V-day tutorial for the series and of course, all my scheduled reviews. Keep your fingers crossed for me, k? Love you all and have a great week ahead!

Hi Connie. I know how you feel and your pain. I do too have eczema on my face and it is really horrible. The redness on my face wont seem to go away i think. It gets worse if i dont watch what im eating. Sometimes fluid will come out from the rashes *eww*. I do too say screw natural remedies because it will take a long time to heal and have to resort to drug or steroids. But right now, my face is alright, still have the redness but it's not that bad, i just cover it up with concealer.
Connie! Hope you'll get better soon.

i have eczema as well and always have trouble covering up the red spots even with concealer and foundation. And when those red spots finally heal, which is rare, my skin tone looks uneven! It's super embarrassing when most of my eczema trouble spots are on my face and my hands. what are products that you have found that least irritate your eczema?
good luck with your skin! hope to see a valentine's tutorial soon!

I totally know how it feels, I've gone through the same stage but years ago and nothing in this world can make you feel better except your skin to clear up...me, and the rest of your readers will wait for your video tutorials and skin product reviews when you are ready! *muwah* Be strong!

I'm sorry to hear that. I am recovering from a long time acne issue, so I totally understand the frustration of not wanting to look at yourself in the mirror. I do think that sometimes, medication seems to be the only thing that works. And yes, seeing a dermatologist saved my face, so good luck with your treatment. We're still here with you, even without reviews or tutorials

oh connie. you poor thing. I had felt like u before. my acne problems used to be so bad and only one side of my face looks normal. so i always try to cover up my face n mad it worse with my hair touching my face. I felt ugly at times but i learnt that the simple way is to drink lots of fluid, get some sleep n exercise. it works for me and now i can finally show my face. screw those ppl who critisise or look at u weirdly, go out and do something that u like, when you are happy it shows on ur face n skin too. get well soon, hope to see u up n about :)

i hope your skin starts to improve soon - I know how annoying it is to deal with a reaction that appears so prominently when it appears anywhere on the face. hopefully whatever your doctor prescribed does the trick.

Oh dear...I hope your eczema clears up soon, in time for a V-day celebration with The Boy.

However, even if it clears up in time, please please please, skip the last V-day tutorial - give your skin some time to recuperate?

We're already more than happy with FOUR tutorials!

Our thoughts are with ya <3 TC!

You poor thing! I hope the meds work - VERY SOON! Eczema is no fun, especially when it's on the face. You take care.

Get well soon!! I'm totally understand and can relate on what do you feels right now....and i'm quite agree with SueLynn76's suggestion for you to not do the V-day tutorial-in order to give ur skin some time to heal completely.

Chin up gorgeous!!

Hi Connie,

This is a late comment, I know -- work's been busy! Anyway, I know how debilitating eczema is ... none of us are judging you for not having new tutorials or product reviews. It's okay, let your skin heal. While it's good to go au naturale, go for what works and makes you happy. Get well soon! Sending good vibes your way :)

Hey Connie I'm sorry about how your feeling I could totally understand your pain. I also have eczema & it's not a good feeling to have, especially when its on your face. I know how terrible that must feel. For me the meds didn't work but the Ointment my dermatologist gave me worked soo good & it helped me alot. I strongly recommend for you or anyone who has the skin condition to try it if you still haven't it's called triamcinolone acetonide ointment usp, 0.1%. You should definitely try that it really helps I promise.

Thanks a bunch!
